Lijiang, Yunnan highlands

Day 1
Lijiang Old Town & Black Dragon Pool
Get lost in the old town early or late (it's quietest then), and catch the Jade Dragon peak mirrored in Black Dragon Pool. We point you to the Naxi music and the non-touristy lanes.
Day 2
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
Up to the glacier park and the surreal Blue Moon Valley — go early, take it slow for the altitude, and skip the staged shows.
Day 3
Villages or a gorge
Mellow day in Shuhe or Baisha villages, or the big one: a stretch of the Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the deepest in the world.
